 ===== How to upload data using Excel ===== ===== How to upload data using Excel =====
 +
 +If you need to upload data to niota from an Excel file, there are several conditions that have to be true.
 +
 +#1 You must have access to the Excel upload feature on the specific table\\
 +#2 you need an Excel that has the same structure as the target table in your database\\
 +#3 If your Excel workbook has more than one sheets, the sheet with our upload data must have the same name as your target table in the database.\\
 +
 +A good way to get an Excel with the same structure than your target table, is to download the table data first.\\
 +
 +
 +Use download icon on the left to download data from niota\\

 +Now you can modify data in the Excel.
 +* Please note, that 0 is currently replace by <null>/<nothing> - in case your column does not allow null, please set a proper value.

 +
 +
 +If you are allowed to upload data to a table you see one or two upload icons on the left of the grid.\\
 +
 +There are two possible types of uploads:
 +#1 – full upload / all records in the table are replace by the records in the Excel you provide.\\
 +#2 – partial upload / only the records from your Excel. Records that are already in the DB table, but not in your Excel remain as they are.\\
 +
 +{{:niota-docs:pasted:20251124-164317.png}}
 +When you click on one of the upload features, you have to provide your upload file.
 +{{:niota-docs:pasted:20251124-164349.png}}
 +
 +
 +Then you have to click again to trigger the upload. A warning will appear.\\
 +{{:niota-docs:pasted:20251124-164359.png}}
 +
 +In case you commit your decision, then upload will start. If upload finishes successfully the table will be refreshed and you should see your new data loaded into your database.\\
